The Roman Catholic Church

There is a Roman Catholic Church located in Krishnanagar which is very popular for its grand architecture. The church has the display of scenes of Jesus Christ’s life that are painted in canvas as well as many other wooden frescos made by Italian artists. There is also a Protestant Church, College Bhavan, the Public Library and Krishna Nagar Academy.

Navadvipa or Nabadwip

Navadvipa or Nabadwip is located on the banks of Bhagirathi River and is the birthplace of Sri Chaitanya, great social reformer and saint who once lived in this place during the 15th century. In fact, it is the main centre of Vaishnav culture in the state of West Bengal and is also a seat of Sanskrit studies during the ancient times.

Ghurni

Ghurni is a very important center for the production of clay dolls which are popularly known as Krishnanagar clay dolls. It was Maharaja Krishnachandra who popularized these clay dolls because he was very fond of them. Now it is an internationally famous location for exhibition & sell of clay dolls. It is a must visit place for tourists who loves home-decor.

Murshidabad

The last capital city of independent Bengal before British rule was named after Nawab Murshid Quli Khan, the Dewan of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. Situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi, it is a city of splendours and is famous for its silk. It was made the capital of Bengal in 1717. Plassey (Palashi), where the historic battle was fought in 1757 is only 40 km south of Murshidabad.

Bethuadahari

Bethuadahari Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Bethuadahari town of Nadia, West Bengal. The sanctuary is located beside National Highway 34. It covers 67 hectares, and was established in 1980 to preserve a portion of the central Gangetic alluvial ecozone. The sanctuary has a large population of spotted deer,jackal,fox, porcupine, and common langur.

Fulia

Fulia is a census town beside the river Ganges under Shantipur police station of Ranaghat subdivision in Nadia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is renowned for hand-woven fabrics. Today, finely woven feather-touch textiles and saris in exotic designs and colours are being produced in its own unique weaving style.
